A 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck under the Indian Ocean near India’s Nicobar and Andaman Islands early Sunday, triggering panic on the archipelago and an initial regional tsunami alert.

China quake toll rises to 791
YUSHU:The death toll in the 7.1-magnitude quake that hit Yushu in China’s southern Qinghai province early on Wednesday rose to at leat 791 on Friday, with 11,486 injured, and 294 missing.
